Easily create your own website using free templates

If you'd like to create your own site but either want a few good ideas or maybe even just want a template rather than creating your site from scratch then take a look at HTML5 UP and Pixelarity.

Everything at HTML5 UP is free to use for whatever purpose you like. Whether that is creating your own website using HTML, CSS and Javascript or whether you would like to customise them for your favourite CMS. The only catch is that you must give credit for using them.

If you are prepared to pay a small amount you can get access to a wider range of templates. These templates come with slightly different rules though.

You can use the templates you download at Pixelarity to create as many sites as you like for you or your clients. You can remove the credits as well although you cannot use the templates to create something for your favourite CMS.

Whilst you do pay a subscription at Pixelarity it doesn't automatically renew and you can continue using any templates you download - even after your subscription has ended. In other words, if you can download all the templates before your subscription runs out, then you will continue to be able to use them without having to continue paying.

Some of the templates may be a bit old fashioned now but both sites offer a range of great templates to get your started. They can also save you a lot of time developing your own from scratch.
